This is a very simple knit I came across at Ravelry
here. I'd say it's definitely for an experienced beginner. I only say experienced due to the sewing of the seams and the pom poms if you decide to add them. You could also easily convert this to knitting in the round or double points, but I wanted to keep the very squared look to it and opted to go with the seaming. Super fast and affordable knit, making it a perfect and memorable baby shower gift, if I do say so myself. I say affordable because each hat probably cost only $1.50 to make. I came across half-off skeins of super fun colored yarn at my local shop. Each skein made about one hat with a little yarn left over. I made one hat and went back later that week and nearly bought an armfull of the remaining yarn the shop had. Cheapest baby gift ever! All the hats are, of course, modeled by my lovely daughter, but each ended up going to warm the heads of some of her other baby friends who all made their appearances around the same time as hers.
My little model only 3 days old. She looks like a baby doll here.
She was 8 or 9 days old in the picture at the top, and 3 months old in the picture below.
